S6 Ep16: “14th & 2nd” Charlie Cifarelli’s Story

In this episode of Your History Your Story, our guest is author, inspirational speaker and passionate animal advocate, Charlie Cifarelli.
Charlie will talk about his recently released autobiography “14th & 2nd” and will share stories from his life journey, which brought him from the streets of New York City to the cornfields of Nebraska.
Charlie, who experienced childhood abuse, periods of homelessness, battles with addiction and the revolving door of rehab, also experienced a spiritual awakening in an upstate New York monastery.
Charlie’s journey eventually took him to the mid west, where he become an officer with the Nebraska Department of Corrections. While in that role, he interacted with death row inmates in their final days. Also, while working with the DOC, Charlie used his entrepreneurial skills to found a successful business.
However, most significantly, Charlie’s life was positively and permanently impacted when he embarked on a mission to rescue a dog named “Star”, who had been shot by an NYPD officer because Star was guarding her homeless owner who was in the midst of a seizure.
This is Charlie’s story.
